Cutright Knives was created by custom knife maker Mark Cutright. Each Cutright Knife is handmade, one at a time, from quality materials sourced in the U.S.A.
Every knife I make is for real use and is designed, tested, and often revised several times, before ever offered to a customer. I take pride in the ergonomics of the handles. They are comfortable and will produce no “hot spots” or undue blistering. Simply put, these are real knives for real use and do not feature any gimmicks that may take away from their function.
I currently use high carbon steels, including 1070, 1075, 1080, and 1095, due their durability and toughness, but also because of their ease of sharpening in the field…even with natural stones. These steels respond favorably to the differential hardening that I prefer. This creates a blade with a with a hard edge and springy spine. It because of this that each knife is individually hardened, one at a time.
They are never hardened or heat treated in batches. This is a more laborious endeavor, but I think the results are worth it.
In the future I will offer some knives in stainless steel, but only after considerable testing.
The sheaths are also handmade, one at a time. The dangler pouch style lends itself wonderfully to backpacking, bushcrafting, and survival. They will accommodate Models 1, 2, 3 and 5. A larger sheath is available for the Model 4. Sheaths are sold separately.
